I'm sorry for the tiny hiatus, but life sometimes gets busy.

Love/Hate

"In love of home, the love of country has it rise"
-Charles Dickens

To be honest, I did not like the original of this picture. Something about it was off; no filter or change in contrast could fix it. No matter how I cropped it, rotated, reverted or restored it, the final product was feeling a bit 'meh'.

So I posted the picture anyway, and continued on my way. That is until I couldn't stand having posted an image that I really didn't care for. Luckily, an idea struck; why not edit and flip this bad boy?

I cropped my photo in half, copied it to Word (twice), flipped one, connected, screenshotted, cropped again, and posted. Probably could have used an app, but why do things the easy way (err, don't answer that)?

The final result is completely fake and a slightly weird landscape with complementary powerlines making odd V-shapes in the sky. It reminds me of the paintings I used to make in kindergarten where you would put paint on some paper and then fold the paper in half, making a butterfly-style paint blob picture (which totally inspires me to make some kick-ass DIY pictures, kindergarten style).

And there you have it; the little story about love/hate relationship of this picture. Or maybe it should be more the 'meh'/creative relationship, since hate is a pretty strong word and creativity is just plain cool 🔶

Tuesday Cheer With Leonardo DiCaprio

Ever had one of those days?

You know the type where you just feel down and defeated and nothing seems to go right. Today was one of those days.

Sharing

I like a lot of things.
Mirror Lakes, New Zealand

There's no doubt that I don't mind taking a good photo. But I am not a one-trick pony; more like a pony who can do a couple of ordinary tricks and has a large variety of interests. I plan to share more of those interests here, to all you lovely internet randoms for your enjoyment.

Speaking of sharing, I plan to share some really good things I find on the internet. The internet is a pretty big place. Navigating it can be hard. I am no expert, but consider me a internet explorer (punny, eh?) and will try provide you with a great mix of internet finds; pics, links, videos, whatever.

Of course I will still be posting my own pics; I love to get feedback on them. Life is jut a bit busy to rely solely on my own pictures to carry my blog across the line. And hey, I like variety, hopefully you like it too. Besides, the brilliance and perhaps even purpose of the internet is to share wonderful things. I think I may try jump in on the brilliance bandwagon and share some good stuff with the good people who actually read my blog!!

What do you think? Do you prefer blogs that are entirely their own content, completely shared items, or a refreshing mix of the two?

Temporarily Misplaced

I have temporarily misplaced my camera cord, hence the lack of posts for today and yesterday. So instead here is a picture of the camera I most use for this blog's pictures; my trusty red Samsung.

A Highlight on Instagram // twiceblessed_

Sometimes you're lucky enough to stumble upon a really good thing.

And that really good thing was a heavenly Instagram. I have even decided to blog about it.

Logs

Sorry for the stop in everyday posts. I have been very busy at work over the weekend. One more shift to go!

"One piece of log creates a small fire, adequate to warm you up, just add a couple more pieces to blast an immense bonfire, large enough to warm up your entire circle of friends; needless to say that individuality counts but team work dynamites."
-Jin Kwon

This picture is a little blurry. I think the quote is the more important thing here.
It is especially relevant for me while I work; it's important to do your individual job so the whole team can benefit from a shared work load. Perhaps I should write more with this quote in mind? Yes, no, maybe?

All The Colours

I want to redo my room. Make it pretty. Have a different colour on the walls rather than the super creamy-almost-pale-yellow paint that is on there now.

But the hardest thing is to chose what colour?

Drive-By

I don't know about you, but when I'm driving, I often see the perfect setting to take a picture. And because I either don't have my camera on me or I'm running late, so I can't pull over and take a snap.

Except this one time, I did exactly that..

NOTE: I safely pulled my car over and parked it before I took this. I wasn't driving and snapping - a potentially very hazardous situation !!

Elephant

"Nature's great masterpiece, an elephant; the only harmless great thing"
-John Donne
British Poet (1575-1631)

Nunui Leggins

Look, I probably should have been studying when I was out having a bit of a shop. But If I hadn't gone shopping, I wouldn't have discovered these lovely things!

Usually, when I look at other people's fashion blogs and Instagrams, I get a case of outfit jealousy and end up wanting or buying(!) things that aren't really me, or wearable for what I do (which is just go to uni most of the time; no fancying modelling here!). So I decided to stick with what I love to wear: a good pair of skinnies and t-shirt/jumpers. So I decided to buy these leggings...

And I am so glad I did, and spent my money on something I will actually wear. And something that is super cute. BONUS, the coloured floral ones are velvety. Is it okay to walk around in public feeling your own pants? Because that's probably what is going to happen.

What are your favourite items to buy? And do you have a blog? Link me so I can see it please!

Welcome, welcome

Welcome to my first post on Timid Lioness.

This is the place where I will share my photos and shenanigans. I like taking photos, even when they don't turn out 'perfect'. I also have a bad habit of buying things when I go shopping.

As I'm just starting out, expect a few glitches here and there, and improvements all round. Posts will be when I have time amongst study and work!

So, please leave a comment! I would love to start building up a little network of blogging friends and  so I can go to check out the awesomeness of their blogs. Link your blog below!
